I have sciatica and I was prescribed Soma. What is Soma and what does it do?

I am in horrible pain from sciatica. My doctor prescribed my Naproxen and Soma. I know what Naproxen is (aleve), but I don’t have a clue what Soma is. Please elaborate for me. What is Soma? What does it do? Will it help with my sciatica? http://bit.ly/o7rxT2
