I have Type 1 diabetes, can Glucophage be taken with or in place of Novo Rapid?

I have type 1 diabetes for 25yrs I take 24u of Lantus once a day and Novo rapid to suit carb intake approx 20u a day, recently a diabetic doctor in Middle East advised me to stop taking the Novorapid and start with one 500mg Glucophage at lunchtime, this to me seems so Alien and [...] http://bit.ly/ndSBbC
