what can I expect from a short dosage of methyprednisolone for sympthoms of leg and foot pain?

Due to discomfort in my legs and feet after prolonged sitting, the doctor prescribed a 6 day supply of methprednisolone and then 1 or 2 Nabumetones for pain afterwards. How does the cortisone work longterm for something like this? http://bit.ly/nvvms7
